Thanks to Nick Rura for this great drone footage.
The pandemic couldn't keep us away and we were finally able to host our first event since the last club trial in November 2019. DSCSD and our gorgeous southern California weather welcomed Bernhard Prem from Austria as our SV judge. A total of 9 dogs participated in the trial with the following results:
Roselyn Coz and her dog Pathos earned their AD title
Nicholas Rura and his dog Bucko earned their BH and AD titles
Christine Barker and her dog BellaMae earned their BH title
Mary Prevost and her dog Freyja earned their BH title
Alethea Caldwell and her dog (handled by Thomas Schoder) earned their BH title
Gina Clemeaux and her dog Angel earned their IGP 1 title
Guy Nguyen and his dog Hanzo earned their SPr 3 and FPr 3 titles
Thank you to Thomas Schoder and Gina Clemeaux and their dogs Soffi and Angel for joining us all the way from Melba, ID.
A very special thanks to our club helper, Victor Belanich, who completed his third club trial as a GSDCA-certified helper. His tireless work again won high praise from Judge Bernhard Prem.
Finally, all of the club members wish to offer thanks to Mike McKinney and Leon Luszcz for all of their time and dedication to the club.
One of our longest-tenured club members, Guy Nguyen, provided these photos from the first DSC club trial 17 years ago. He is shown handling V. Asko vom Giliannes during the protection phase of the trial.
Asko earned Sch 3, FH1, and KKL1 (Life) titles during his time with the club
Asko is one of the rare working line German Shepherds to earn a "V" rating in a conformation show
Our club, Deutscher Schaferhunde Club of San Diego (DSCSD), is an SV Regional Club within the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA). If you plan to enter your dog in a GSDCA-sanctioned conformation show or trial, you, as an individual or family, must first become a member of the GSDCA.
Every dog entered in a GSDCA-sanctioned conformation show or trial must have its own scorebook. After you've secured your GSDCA membership, please contact Joy Schultz at the GSDCA to obtain a scorebook for your dog. Her contact information can be found here: http://www.gsdca.org/sv-programs/sv-regional-clubs
With rule changes that took effect January 1, 2019, the BH routine has been modified as described in the video below:
